Amenhotep IV or more commonly known as Akhenaten and Neferneferuaten Nefertiti. Rulers of the 18th Dynasty 1351-1334 BC
They are most known for reforming the Egyptian religion to the worship of the Aten. Akhenaten and Nefertiti built many temples to the new God aswell as having many old temples closed and had the old Gods removed from inscriptions.
They would also build a city in honor of the God which today is called Amarna, it housed the great Temple of Aten.
After their reign, Tutankhamun (which man scholars and archeologists believe to be Akhenaten's son) would soon bring back the older religious practices and abandon Atenism and relocated the Captial to Thebes
Atenism: during Akhenaten's fifith year of his reign, he places the Aten as the Supreme and one true God. The Aten was originally seen as an Ascent of the Sun God Ra. It was established as Egypts main belief for 20 years.
